As part of the Year 10 Sports Leaders Course, Stockbridge and Wherwell Primary Schools attended mini games activities organised by the Leaders. The aim of the session was to develop basic skills and understanding for a game activity.

Some Sports Leaders were assessed during the mini games session and the teachers were looking at the Leaders’ ability to organise a basic activity session. The Leaders needed to show how they were prepared and ready to get the pupils fully involved. They were also assessed on their approachability and whether they show self-control and discipline.

Wherwell Primary School were fully involved with the games activities when they attended in November. The Leaders gave clear instructions to the pupils, advising on games activities to help develop their space awareness.

“All the Sports Leaders did really well during the session and those that were assessed were recommended for the course, so well done to the Year 10 groups – an excellent start to the course.” — Mrs Smith, School Sports Co-ordinator
