Three Test Valley Cluster schools attended the basketball coaching session on Tuesday 4th February 2014. Pupils from Wherwell, Stockbridge and Wallop developed their basic skills and knowledge of the game from the Year 10 Sports Leaders. Twenty Sports Leaders taught the skills of basketball involving dribbling, shooting and passing and developed the game situation using key rules.
After the warm up and stretches the KS2 pupils looked at the techniques needed for the basic basketball game especially shooting.
After a short break the coaching games began with team talks from the Leaders highlighting the necessary rules for the game.
The games began and the determination to do well could be seen on the pupils’ faces’. All the pupils were fully involved in the coaching session and were congratulated and awarded a certificate from the Sports Leaders.
Well done to all the Year 10 Leaders as they all successfully passed their assessments.
