In August many of our Year 11 pupils came into school to collect their GCSE results. Some pupils came with parents, others with family members or friends. It was a very special moment to share with our pupils. There were many happy faces, tears of joy and much to be celebrated. We are pleased to report that 65% of pupils achieved five or more grades equivalent to A*-C including English and Mathematics. Results in English and Mathematics were excellent taking into account the significant changes to the examinations and the introduction of new number grades in these subjects this year. 75% of pupils achieved at least a grade 4 or above (equivalent to A*-C) in English and in Mathematics. Pupils are also to be commended for the results they have achieved in a number of other subjects again this year.
Headteacher, Louisa Hiscock:
‘We are delighted with the results achieved by our pupils, especially with the anticipated volatility of these results. I congratulate and wish them all well as they go forward to the next stage in their lives. I pay credit to the staff for their commitment and determination to support our pupils and also take this opportunity to thank parents for their support.’
