The so-called “Fifth Season” in Germany
This week some of our German lessons were rather colourful, celebrating Karneval the ‘German way’. Our Year 10 pupils especially enjoyed the customs, songs, dances and fun costumes whilst they learnt about the history of and the reasons behind this celebration madness enjoyed by most Germans in readiness for Lent. Mr Langdown popped in to the lesson and got involved too!
Jensen Hawkes said:
“it was enjoyable to experience part of German culture and reflect on how their traditions are different from ours.”
Felix Hammer added:
“it was an enjoyable experience which gave him the opportunity to learn about German culture and have fun at the same time.”
