We were delighted to host a talk by Walter Kammerling on Thursday 7th December. Walter, a very young 94-year-old Holocaust survivor, spoke to our Years 9 and 10 pupils about his experiences of the Holocaust and coming to Britain on the Kindertransport two weeks before Christmas when he was 15 years old. Following his talk pupils had the opportunity to ask Walter questions about his experiences and his life both before and after the Holocaust. Walter’s talk was followed up on Friday 8th December with a facilitator from the Holocaust Education Trust coming in to deliver a workshop to our Year 9 pupils. There will be more information about Walter and his visit in the Autumn edition of the School Newsletter.
