The Year 10 Sports Leaders help to organise and score at the Primary Schools Indoor Sports Hall Athletics competition on Monday 15th October. The annual Primary School Cross Country event took place at our school on Wednesday 3rd October with a glorious summer day. Sports Leaders Level 1 course is a national qualification recognised by all schools and colleges. Pisces, as he was immediately named, the hedgehog was rescued from the school pool by a brave pupil last week. After an opportunity to recover and dry off in the Science department Pisces was released safely back into the wild next to a large pile of leaves and twigs.
In Music lessons Year 7 pupils have been learning about ‘Musical Elements’ and are applying this new vocabulary to developing and improving classroom ‘Stomp’ pieces in small groups. Congratulations to Oliver Harper-Adams in Year 11 who has become the 2018 Hampshire Junior Champion in the CPSA Accredited and international FITASC Compact Sporting shooting discipline held in West Sussex in September. This is an excellent achievement and certainly shows ’pursuit of personal excellence’. Well done Oliver!
Mrs Cross (Subject Leader for Food and Textiles) is delighted to report that 100% of Test Valley School pupils passed their Textiles and Designs GCSE with 85% achieving grades of A* – C, which is well above the national average of 74%.
In Religious Studies Year 8 have been studying the ‘big’ questions in life. They started off by sharing their ideas as a class on seven big questions.
