Year 7 were recently presented with a Green Global Challenge to come up with ways to make Test Valley School more environmentally friendly, reduce our energy bills and reduce our carbon footprint. During their learn-to-learn lessons pupils have been working in groups to research ideas, investigate solutions and present their ideas in a persuasive way. On Tuesday 6th March all groups presented their ideas to their class and voted for a winning team. The winning teams from each class presented their ideas to the whole year group who voted for their favourite idea. A vast range of great ideas were presented and the winning teams from each class (pictured) included solar electric panels, solar heating for the school, bio mass electricity generation, a range of techniques to care for the school pool. The winning team proposed a rain water collection and filtering system which they costed and projected would be in profit within 8 -16 years after installation.
