Keeping our Sports Leaders Busy!

Year 7 New Age Kirling

The Year 7 New Age Kurling competition has started with the tutor groups competing against each other in a very tight and close event. The final matches will take place after the Year 11 exams resuming on Wednesday 7th March at lunchtime. Only one round of the competition has been played so far with 7G TAKING THE LEAD and winning both their games!! The competition is run by the Year 8 Young Sports Leaders as the final assessment for their course running on Wednesday lunchtimes in the school gym.

Year 7 pupils will be working with the Year 8 Young Leaders as an  introduction to  the new course. They can sign up to join the Sports Leaders every Wednesday lunchtime. The Young Sports Leaders work with the primary pupils from our cluster schools just like the Year 10 Sports Leaders and sometimes support them to host their activities. ‘Taster sessions’ will start just before the Easter holidays and the official course will start in the Summer Term with the Year 8 pupils Young Leaders helping to mentor.
