An experiment to give pupils a different way of revising was used in Maths lessons recently. Mr Whatley brought a large number of pupils to the Hall. In each corner were the letters A, B, C and D. Using the website “Diagnostic Questions” Mr Whatley was able to challenge the pupils’ understanding of some key maths concepts by asking multiple choice questions. Pupils calculated the answers, including showing some workings, and moved to the area of the hall that corresponded with one of the letters – with each wrong answer identifying a typical misconception. Pupils’ feedback was overwhelmingly positive and they enjoyed the different style of lesson.
