Summer Sizzler

On Thursday 5th July the Test Valley School Parent Teacher Association ran their second Summer Sizzler – and with the ongoing sunshine it really was a ‘summer sizzler’ this year! We had a good turnout, with families of current pupils and Year 6 pupils joining us in September. The event provided a lovely opportunity for all to mix and enjoy a great social occasion. Our new pupils coming in were able to meet other pupils and make new friends, adding to the excitement of starting school soon.

Activities included swimming in our full size outdoor pool, bouncing on a range of fun inflatables and playing rounders.  The inflatables were provided by a local company and included a run-through obstacle course which proved to be very popular, providing children with the opportunity to race, dive and slide. Many also enjoyed the pool on such a hot day and we valued the support of our lifeguards on duty, including locally trained volunteers. Some children seemed to never stop bouncing, diving and generally having the time of their lives!

The Food Tent was run by PTA members, staff and Year 10 pupils with Shawn Weatherall (Vice Chair of our PTA and qualified chef), maintaining the food standards on the BBQ. Many thanks to our PTA, staff, and volunteers who supported this great event.
