On Tuesday 12th June we saw the return of our annual ‘Science and Technology Day’ (previously known as Rocket Day) for our local primary schools.
We were delighted to welcome to our school ninety-four Year 4 pupils and they took part in a variety of exciting activities. Pupils were divided into two groups for the activities. The technology activity involved making their own wooden rockets to later launch on the field from our own ‘rocket launcher’ and find out which would fly the furthest and highest. In the Science department they had to design and create a miniature raft using a variety of objects provided to find out which would not only float but move across water. The pupils were able to test their rafts out in one of our padding pools before making any final improvements. It was then time to take to the waters of our swimming pool and race them across to the other side. The Year 4 pupils were supported throughout the day by our pupil ambassadors who did a wonderful job.
