It was an adventurous Thursday for a large group of Year 8 pupils, as they made their way to Cheddar Gorge in Somerset to take part in a number of exciting and educational activities. They split into two groups which allowed them to have a more personalised tour of the caves.
The pupils had a tour of Gough Cave, finding out about its namesake Richard Cox Gough and seeing many amazing features inside the cave.
‘Dreamhunters’ was another experience the pupils thoroughly enjoyed: this involved a multimedia experience telling the story of ‘The Adventures of Early Man’. After lunch some pupils went to visit the museum while others climbed Jacob’s Ladder (all 274 steps). Mr Murdoch-Smith gave an excellent talk about the significance of Jacob’s Ladder. A very tired group then made their way to the shops in Cheddar Village before departing. The pupils were a credit to Test Valley School with their excellent behaviour throughout the day.
