What is the PTA?

Test Valley School PTA is a registered charity whose purpose is to ‘enhance the education of the pupils of the school’. We achieve this by raising funds to provide facilities, equipment and opportunities the children would not have otherwise.

We also organise fun social events for pupils and parents throughout the year to help develop a strong school community. 

Who are we?

The PTA is run by a committee of friendly and enthusiastic parents and teachers. Anyone who is a parent or guardian of a pupil at the school, or a member of staff can join. We usually meet about six times a year to discuss and plan fundraising and social events. Joining the Committee is a great way to get to know the staff and other parents whilst contributing to the Test Valley School community. However, there are plenty of other ways to help!

What events have we organised?

In the last few years we have organised or supported many events. These have included a Camp Out night for the new Year 7’s, Halloween Disco, Christmas Raffle, Film Nights, Prom Night for the Year 11’s, Summer Sizzler and Stockfest music event. We have also been involved in community events such as Trout n’ About and organised a music concert at the Grovesnor Hotel in Stockbridge.

As you can see, our events and activities are numerous and build community and contribute to social life of the school, something which the PTA believes is very important.

What have we funded?

Our main focus in the past year has been to keep the pool open for the school while finding a long term solution to make it more useable all year round and open it up for community use. Additionally, along with many generous volunteers, we completed practical maintenance on the pool.

We look forward to working with the school to support many other projects.

How can you get involved?

We always welcome new people to join the committee but if not, there are lots of other ways you can help us. This could be helping out at or attending an event, practical support (for example cooking burgers, serving drinks or grouting pool tiles!) supplying raffle prizes or buying raffle tickets. Additionally, you could sign up to be a member of our 250 Club lottery. Our250 Club lottery was set up to fund the pool and keep it open while a long term solution is found. It costs just £5 per month or £60 per year with four winners every month!  To join, please email testvalleypta@gmail.com.

The committee meet regularly and are currently meeting virtually. Anyone wanting to join the committee, please get in touch and we will let you know when the next meeting is.
