Attitude Grade Descriptors

New Attitude Grades from September 2016

Pupils will be assessed in three key areas: effort with classwork, effort with home learning tasks and behaviour and attitude to learning.

Pupils will receive one of four gradings which describe their effort or attitude during the current term.

Attitude Grades Used Before September 2016

  • Behaves in a mature and responsible way
  • Uses initiative and actively seeks to improve
  • Is enthusiastic and willing to get involved
  • Is reflective and plans independently
  • Looks for opportunities to extend learning

  • Behaves in a mature and responsible way
  • Stays on task and maintains concentration
  • Is well organised and prepared to work
  • Is thoughtful and beginning to work more independently
  • Meets deadlines and responds to opportunities to extend learning

  • Behaves co-operatively
  • Concentrates on the task in hand
  • Is willing to improve with teacher guidance
  • Is organised and prepared for work
  • Completes homework and meets deadlines

  • Lacks motivation
  • Sometimes lacks self discipline
  • Has to be guided to stay on task
  • Can be poorly organised and has difficulty meeting deadlines

  • Behaves in an immature and irresponsible way
