Get to know your Test Valley School PTA
Kirsty Gray — Chair
I have worked in the technology industry for nearly 20 years for global companies such as HP, Toshiba and Samsung but have now moved into the Toy Industry which surprisingly was a very popular move with my children!!
I enjoy spending time with my family and friends especially doing outdoor activities such as SUP boarding, outdoor laser tag and canoeing. I enjoy travelling and reading. My family are very important to me which is what prompted me to get involved in the PTA.
I am keen to play an active role in my children’s life and thought that the PTA would be a good way of doing this. Sadly, government funding cuts continue to have an impact on education which can sometimes result in some of the extra-curricular activities becoming more challenging to do.
Test Valley School has a well-supported and active PTA made up of like-minded parents and teachers. The teachers at Test Valley are extremely involved and a huge number of them continuously dedicate their time during and outside of school to offer an enhanced programme of activities. I wanted to get involved with this to support these unsung heroes and play my part in providing fun, varied events that would not only further strengthen the school community for pupils and teachers but also help raise much needed funds to invest in the school.
We are a reasonably small but very dedicated and friendly PTA, always looking for new members or just helpers for some of the events we run. If anyone is interested you can message the PTA through this Facebook page or email us on PTA@testvalley.hants.sch.uk
We look forward to your continued support at our next family event on 7th July. Please see our event section for more details.
Shemine Wallace — Secretary
My name is Shemine Wallace.
I am currently a working mum at Test Valley school where my eldest daughter attends year 7. I worked in the Finance sector for many years until I took a career break to support my husband and 3 young children. I am secretary for the PTA. My reasons for joining are to get more involved in the school, raise money for important school projects and to meet new people. I enjoy socializing, meeting new people, talking, spending time with my family and shopping.
