StockFest Returns

StockFest 2017Despite the summer showers last week, our annual celebration of talent across our school community took place with the return of StockFest, now marking its ninth year.

Stockfest 2017There was a fantastic variety of performances from our pupils on the main stage, a barbeque and refreshment stall, delicious cakes to be bought, games to be played and a number of stalls run by pupils, staff and the parents.

All funds raised will be divided between chosen charities and a school project yet to be decided. Mr Willcox, who organised the event with a team of pupils (and the support of staff), said:

“I was really pleased with all the support from staff, parents and pupils — it made the event all the more successful. We have a lot of talent at Test Valley School and it was good to give the pupils an occasion where they can show off their talent”.

Thanks are also given to longstanding friends of the school who provide the sound and marquee, as well as giving their time at no charge.

Swimming Pool Opens for Summer

This week the swimming pool opened for the Summer Term.

We are incredibly fortunate to have such a great facility to use and we plan on making the most of it come rain or shine. Swimming lessons are already taking place during PE lessons and pupils are able to use the pool during their lunch breaks.

Weather Looks Good in Germany

This week, in German, Year 10 pupils started to look at the issues of global warming and how this may affect the weather in the future. Pupils were given time to write a weather forecast for the year 2032 and then delivered it to their peers. This is a fun and engaging way to get all pupils speaking in the target language.
