Test Valley Summer Sizzler

On Friday 7th July our PTA, along with many staff volunteers hosted an evening of fun for pupils and their families. This included the opportunity to go in the swimming pool for those who wanted to cool down, fun on the giant inflatables and a delicious BBQ and sweet shop to satisfy the hungriest of people. A huge thank you to all those involved, it was a fantastic example of the wonderful team work and support we have here at Test Valley School.

Test Valley’s Head Boy and Head Girl

We are pleased to announce that with the votes now collected and counted, we can officially announce the new Head Boy, Head Girl and their deputies:

Head Boy: Teyi Adeyeye

Head Girl: Alice Woodfield

Deputy Head Boy: Felix Hammer

Deputy Head Girl: Amelia Cairns

We congratulate all of you. We also commend the other Year 10 pupils who put themselves forward for these posts. It was wonderful to see so many stand and it was a difficult choice to make.

Test Valley Bake-Off

This week was the final of the Test Valley Bake-Off. After many weeks of fantastic cakes being brought in by our Year 9 pupils, it was time to

determine which was the best. In total there were eight finalists brought in the most fantastic array of cakes. The theme of the final was “something related to school” and each cake was judged on presentation, taste, texture and how it related to school. It was a really difficult competition to judge as all of the cakes were wonderful and the pupils put so much passion and hard work into their creations.

The eight finalists were:

9A

Elyssa Newell

Ayla Eddery

9D

Ella Sturman

Mia Ciutto

9N

Fin Cavill

Henry King

9S

Ellie Carr

Dominic Hart

The overall winner will be announced on the last day of term..

KS3 Sports Day

On Wednesday 12th July Test Valley school had their annual KS3 Sports Day. Initially there were concerns that it might have had to be postponed due to the early morning rain, but a little rain did not deter our PE department. It was a busy day, with various events taking place around the school – high jump in the sports hall, discus, shotput, javelin, long jump and track events on the sports field, there was even a staff relay race. The atmosphere was very positive with pupils supporting each other with enthusiasm, even the sun came out for us. Thank you to the PE department for organising this fantastic event and all the staff who supported behind the scenes.

Year group winners were:

  • 9-D
  • 8-A
  • 7- S

The overall KS3 winners were Austen.
