An Easter Hunt with a French Twist
On Wednesday 3rd April at lunchtime there was a scavenger hunt run by the MFL department. This was part of a series of ‘Easter Challenge’ events put on by the Head Prefects. All KS3 classes had been taught Easter themed vocabulary during their French lessons and then at lunchtime there was a competition to find all the pictures up around the school and take a selfie with them! The first teams back in each year group won a prize. It was lovely to see so many pupils taking part and enjoying the hunt.
40 Year 4 pupils from our local primary schools
took part in our PE and Humanities workshops this week. The pupils enjoyed a rotation of Geography,
Religious Education and PE. Working with
their Test Valley pupil helpers, the children designed a postcard in Geography,
learned about the symbolism of a Hindu God in R.E and developed their team-working
skills in PE. A great morning’s work!
Over the Easter break, several pupils and staff enjoyed a weekend in North Yorkshire, visiting York Minster, touring the Wensleydale Cheese Factory and hiking to Malham Cove. On the Sunday morning the pupils visited the Holybush Christian Fellowship. This visit was the main focus of the trip and pupils were given the opportunity to learn more about Christian Mission Evangelism and Christian beliefs in practice.
