Sparsholt Futures

Sparsholt Futures on Wednesday 13th June gave the enquiring minds of our Year 9 the opportunity to see how future technology can be used in our industries.

Everything from a mechanical horse, to a remote controlled bank climbing lawn mower, to drones being used by the police, just scratches the surface of the experiences Year 9 got their hands on during this fast paced, interactive exploration.

This was an amazing opportunity and we are very grateful to the organising team at Sparsholt College for their hard work in pulling this off.

Fun Run

Walking, trotting and running around our sports field to help raise funds for our school swimming pool, Test Valley pupils took part in an after school fun run.  This was a great event well supported by staff, PTA and, most importantly, our pupils.

In a bid to run the distance from Lands End to John O’Groats, our runners clocked up an impressive 360+ miles – a great start to our challenge.

Thank you to Kate Bone, a ‘muddy runner’ champion.  Kate came along to advocate running as part of a healthy lifestyle choice.

Thanks also goes to Gretta Lovell who took time to source food and supply refreshments for the runners at the end of their run.

In addition to racking up the miles, the pupils also raised more than £1200 — a fantastic amount!

Congratulations and thank you for your support everyone.

Pupil Librarian Achievement Award

Congratulations to Henry King, who recently received his Gold Pupil Librarian Achievement Award!

The Pupil Librarian Achievement Award is a carefully structured training programme, which allows pupil librarians to develop skills, qualities and knowledge in a real life context.

Henry has consistently worked in the library, doing a variety of jobs, including shelving, issuing and returning books, suggesting new titles for the library, creating displays and helping with ad-hoc projects. Thank you Henry!
